As another month begins, it's a lovely opportunity to pause, take a breath, and remember that learning doesn't have to be rushed. Whether your days are carefully planned or unfold one moment at a time, every conversation, every question and every shared experience can become part of your child's learning journey.

Over the past few months, many parents have seen headlines and social media posts about changes to home education following the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026.
It's understandable that this has caused some uncertainty.
Some parts of the new legislation are beginning to take shape, while other areas are still waiting for further regulations and official guidance before they are introduced. This means there is often far more detail behind the headlines than can be shared in a short social media post.
Rather than trying to explain everything here, we've created a new Education Updates page on the Why Play Learning website.

🌿 You Are Doing Enough
It can sometimes feel as though there is always something else to learn, another activity to plan, or another article to read.
But learning doesn't only happen during lessons.
It happens while baking together.
It happens when children ask unexpected questions.
It happens during walks, games, stories, conversations and moments of quiet curiosity.
If your child feels safe enough to explore, ask questions, make mistakes and discover new things, then learning is already taking place.
Sometimes the greatest gift we can give our children is simply the time and space to wonder.
